David H. Myers, age 80, of Rice Lake/Chetek, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at MCHS- Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. David was born June 1, 1944 to the late Harvey and Mary (Meyer) Myers in Adeline, Illinois. He and his family moved to Rice Lake when he was 12. He attended Rice Lake High School, leaving two years early to help his dad with the family painting/interior decorating business. He had met his future wife, Adriane, at high school. In October of 1964 he and Adriane K. Nelson were married. They moved to Rockford, Illinois for David to work in an apprenticeship program which he completed in 1968. During their time in Illinois, their daughter, Susan, was born. The family later moved to Janesville, Wisconsin and then Mondovi in 1972 where he worked with Mikesell Painting and Decorating for a few years before starting his own successful business. David's neat and meticulous work style garnered him opportunities to work with clients such as Bing Crosby's wife, Katherine, and other millionaires in the Chippewa Valley. He enjoyed work, traveling and also being outdoors fishing and deer and bird hunting. Following retirement, he and Adriane moved to the Chetek area to enjoy their retirement years. David is survived by his daughter, Susan Christopherson (Tim) of Chetek; and granddaughter, Sierra (Josh) Weichert and great grandson, SJ, of Eau Claire; grandson, Isaac (Sarah) Goettl and great granddaughter, Della, of Chippewa Falls; brothers and sisters, Barbara Swanson of Lancaster, Wisconsin, Jack (Barb) Myers of Chetek, Gloria (Ken) Lee of Chetek, Donna (Jim) Folstad of Sarona, Wisconsin, Christine (Don) Dulyea of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Marilyn (Bob) Erwin of Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and Dan Myers of Mikana, Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Myers and Mary Ann Myers; best friend, Charlie Tubbs of Cameron, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adriane; grandson, Justen; sister, Charlotte Myers; brothers, Curt and Butch Myers; and infant brother, Ralphie. |
